Our Values
Our core values of Integrity, Positivity and Equality are at the heart of all we do and are fully endorsed by the diverse range of partner organisations who work with us.
Integrity plays a significant role in shaping our everyday lives and the lives of others. It is the moral compass that guides us in making decisions, leading us to do the right thing even when no one is watching. As future teachers, you are expected to possess this characteristic and be held to a higher standard than many other careers. We believe that a teacher with integrity serves as a good example to others, inspiring trust, respect, and admiration.
Positivity is contagious. When we are positive, we engage in positive thinking, have positive emotions, and engage in positive behaviours such as kindness and generosity. We believe that a positive mindset will not only improve a teacher's resilience, it will help them create a positive classroom environment: a place in which students feel like they belong, can trust others, and feel encouraged to tackle challenges and take risks in their learning.
Equality holds that all people must be treated fairly and with dignity and be able to embrace opportunities for education, economic success, political involvement, and a fulfilling life. We recognise the uniqueness of our partnership and our significant role in raising aspirations and creating opportunities for our communities and young people, addressing the challenges associated with remoteness, economic inequalities, ‘hidden’ poverty, coastal communities and the lack of local ethnic diversity.
We also highly value:
-
Creativity and risk-taking
-
Individual and collective responsibility
-
Collaborative learning and communities of practice
-
Empathy and demonstrating compassion for others
